Primary 2 have been learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly. They have been experiencing this first hand in the classroom watching their caterpillars turn into cocoons, then into a chrysalis, finally turning into beautiful butterflies!
They took the butterflies down to the forest to release them.
PC Kenny came to the school to talk to the children about the importance of staying safe on the internet, using online games and social media apps.
He showed them some some age appropriate videos from the website https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk, which is a resource which can be used to highlight the importance of staying safe online, exploring what’s good, what’s not and what they can do about it if they feel uncomfortable or worried about something that is happening online.
Primary 7 have a full day ahead. They are going to visit the windmills and are going to see the sights in Amsterdam. There may even be enough time to stop off for a quick lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe!
Primary 2/1 did really well at their assembly on Friday. They presented what they have learned about People Who Help Us to the whole school.
Primary 7 had a fantastic day! One or two children may be coming home with a new friend!
After a busy day at the theme park, they still had lots of energy tonight down at the beach! I’m sure it’ll be lights out early tonight!
All of the children slept well last night after a busy day i
n Amsterdam and a walk around the seaside town in the evening.
We are heading today for a full day at the the theme park. We are all looking forward to it! Pictures to follow later on today.

Here are a few pictures of Primary 7 on their journey today. They stopped off at Gretna Services for a bite to eat. Just recently they arrived at the ferry port and are waiting to set sail!
Primary 1 and Primary 2/1 really enjoyed their visit from PC Kenny. He came to visit us as part of our People Who Help Us topic. He showed us all the equipment he has to keep himself and us safe. We even got to say hello over the radio. We had lots of fun!
