Our highly able pupils visited the Library with Mrs Belam. They learned about the Dewy Decimal System and had the opportunity to look at a variety of books. Each child registered for a library card and took a book out from the library.

Nursery Bookbug Session
The children from our Nursery visited the Library for a Bookbug session. They enjoyed taking part in songs and rhymes.

Parents as Partners
Primary 1 hosted our first Parents as Partners event. They shared helpful hints to support their learning and told everyone all about Meta skills.
St Michael’s Day Celebrations
We had lots of fun during our week long celebration of our Patron saint. We enjoyed our fun day, the sponsored dance, cake and candy and finally first Friday mass.
Reading Ambassadors
Some of our Reading ambassadors dropped off some books for children to enjoy within our local community. As St Michael’s works towards our gold Reading Schools award we are working to promote the love of reading within the community. If you can help us with this in any way please let Mrs Stevenson know.
Learning in Primary 2
Today learned about the colour of vestments the priest wears throughout the year. They also learned about the names for parts of the church. When we go to first Friday Mass tomorrow, they will look to see what colour of chasuble Fr Emmanuel is wearing and see if they can identify the part of the church.
We also began looking at measuring the mass of item and explored the weight of objects using non standard units.
Parents as Partners
We are looking forward to welcoming our P.1 parents to our very first Parents as Partners event on Thursday 1st October.
The format will be a short presentation/assembly by the children at 2.00 p.m. followed by an interactive activity then time to chat and catch up over juice and biscuit.
The Primary 1 event will be based around Successful Learning in P.1 and you should enter the building via the main front door.
