Industrial Action – Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th of September

Unite the Union has notified the council that its members who support the running and operation of primary schools, secondary schools, ASN schools and early years establishments, will be striking on Tuesday 26, Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 September 2023 in relation to the proposed pay award.

National discussions are ongoing and the situation is being monitored and may be subject to change.

The strike action means that a number of primary schools (including nursery classes) and secondary schools (including LCSCs within schools) will be closed on these three dates and will reopen on Friday 29 September 2023. This includes Holy Cross Primary and Nursery Class.

Please note that schools will have closed for the arranged September holiday weekend on Friday 22 and Monday 25 September, which means that some parents/carers will need to make additional alternative arrangements for childcare if your school is affected by the strike action.
