This week we continued our work on comparing fractions, looking at equivalent fractions on the fraction wall.
We worked on our inference skills in language, considering the deeper meaning of the text through different quotes. For our final week of the Instructions Genre in Story Writing we each created an edible octopus treat and wrote out the steps we went through.
We learned what overfishing is, we know that this term describes what happens when too many fish are taken from the ocean in a short space of time, they cannot be replenished quickly enough. We know that it’s important to buy sustainable products when we shop for seafood.
We learned about the life of St Francis of Assisi, his feast day is celebrated in October. He was a man of great courage who put others before himself. For Sullivan popped into our class this week and shared some of his favourite stories of this well loved Saint with us.
There were a few tired faces this morning after a late night at the Halloween Disco last night, great fun was had by all. The excitement continued today with the Toy Sale…some great bargains were found by some of the boys and girls in Primary 5 🙂
Have a super weeekend!
