Nearly There!

Hi Everyone.

We can’t quite believe the first term is nearly over! We have all learned so much and are working well as a team, have lots of new friends and are enjoying the school routine.

This week in Literacy P1 have been busy making their own reading book which they are looking forward to taking home next week and reading to you. The new words P1 have learned  this week are; my and can. We have a lot of new words  in our tin now and we are remembering to practice them every night. The letter we are learning this week is ‘n’. What it looks like, sounds like, how to write it and words beginning with this sound. We even had noodles and nail polish brought in from home!

P2 started a new phoneme this week. It sounds like ‘A’, but looks like ‘ai’, ‘ay’, ‘a_e’, i.e rain , play, cake. This will continue into next week too. P2 words this week are; could, off, our, down. They have been working hard writing it on their whiteboards and making up sentences with the words in it.

In Numeracy P1 have been doing lots of counting quantities to 10 and matching the amount to the correct number.

P2 have been revising addition stories and all the vocabulary that means add; altogether, plus, 1 or 2 more than, add, +.

We also had our first house meeting of this school year. P1 really enjoyed going to the ‘meeting’ in a different classroom and meeting all the people in their house.
