What a week!!!!!! We were given a challenge of writing a song for 100 years of Catholic Education. We had great fun re-writing the lyrics to ‘Livin’ on a prayer’. We had a blast researching what catholic education means to us and we looked at education from the past, present and future. If you feel like singing along here is the lyrics.
Verse 1
It started in 1918,
The Education Act made Catholics really keen
For learning, mmm for learning.
We learn about Jesus our Teacher,
He taught how to pray, and believe in the word
of God, mmm of God
Bridge
We’ve got to spread out the word of God,
It doesn’t make a difference if your Catholic or not.
We join together, to make a community
For eternity.
Chorus
Whoa, 100 years
Whoa oh, here’s to many more
Justice and peace, forgiveness and faith
Whoa oh, here’s to many more.
Verse 2
In school we go to first Friday mass,
We give to charity, we prepare for sacraments
in class, mmm, in class.
Each month we have a house meeting
We gather in faith, we listen
to teachers teaching
teaching.
Bridge
We’ve got to spread out the word of God,
It doesn’t make a difference if your Catholic or not.
We join together, to make a community
For eternity.
Chorus
Whoa, 100 years
Whoa oh, here’s to many more
Justice and peace, forgiveness and faith
Whoa oh, here’s to many more.
Here’s to many more
Ooo, we’ve gotta get to 200 years
Are you ready to celebrate let’s all cheer!
Chorus
Whoa, 100 years
Whoa oh, here’s to many more
Justice and peace, forgiveness and faith
Whoa oh, here’s to many more.
Chorus
Whoa, 100 years
Whoa oh, here’s to many more
Justice and peace, forgiveness and faith
Whoa oh, here’s to many more.
Here’s to many more
