A9 Workshop

A9 workshop: the company Jacobs was so kind to come in and tell us about the A9 and their jobs.

Ecologist: an ecologist is someone who looks at a bit of land to see if there are any animals on the land that has to be further developed. If they do not see the  actual animal they may find evidence that proves the animal is there and they might look to see if they can move the animal.

Engineering: there are many jobs you can do as an engineer like civil, mechanical, chemical, electrical. manufacturing and Aerospace. The ladies that came in were civil bridge engineers. They did not only have to make one route but many routes. They required to build bridges over water and marsh land some of their routes go through protected land and bogs.

Geologist: geology is the study of rocks  which is very important when building a road because if the rock is soft the road could warp or disfigure. Also the concrete is made of limestone which cannot regenerate nearly quick enough, so we have to find substitutes fast.

Football Coaching

Chris McLaughlin came in and took us for football yesterday at the pitches. We had a brilliant time working on our dribbling and shielding. We can’t wait til next week.  Make sure everyone has long jogging trousers and a waterproof jacket.
