Happy Easter

It didn’t take us long to get back into the swing of things in Primary 1 after our spring break. It sounds like everyone had a lovely time and we are ready to get back to work!

We are continuing with our work on subtraction in Maths. We are looking at different rules we can apply to help us with calculations. We have also been chatting about numbers up to 100 in our oral work. We are enjoying counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

In Literacy we were exploring the ‘ch’ phoneme and were playing games to help us to read words with ‘ch’ in them. We have moved onto a new genre in writing and are learning to write simple instructions. This week we were writing instructions on how to look after a pet. We did really well and Mrs McCann struggled to choose star writers because they were all so good!

We started a new Science topic about living and non living things. We are looking forward to learning about the characteristics of living things and about life cycles.

We really enjoyed our Easter Parade at the end of last term. Here we are in our amazing Easter bonnets. Thank you for all your help with making them. We are very lucky children 😊
