Primary 4/3 have been very busy!
Primary 3 have started the novel ‘The Magic Carpet Slippers’ and are beginning to use the 6 reading strategies to help them understand text better. Primary 4 are becoming more and more independent using their strategies.
In maths Primary 4 have been using number facts and a variety of mental models to work out addition and subtraction calculations. Primary 3 have been learning to use pictures, jottings and models to work out and record addition and subtraction calculations.
We have been writing reports recently. We wrote a report about Burn’s Night and Neil Armstrong. We enjoy using subheadings to organise our writing. We also make sure that we read over our finished work to see that it makes sense and has the correct punctuation needed.
We have started ‘Our Independent Learning Journey’. We have a newly resourced area for this round in the extension. This is a time when we take charge of our own learning and develop skills such as investigating, pretending, planning, challenging, organising as well as many other skills. We have included pictures of this wonderful learning experience.
Today we celebrated First Friday Holy Mass and we look forward to receiving our special sacraments this year. Please keep us all in your prayers as we prepare for this special time.
Have a wonderful weekend,
