Food Glorious Food

Hello and welcome to our latest blog!

Since the last blog we’ve been cooking Turkish food in class. Ayla’s mum came in and taught us how to make coreck. It is a type of Turkish flat bread made with natural yoghurt and flour. We all used listening, rolling, talking and discovering skills. It was really good fun and the bread tasted delicious. Our class smelled so good as the bread fried in a pan. We tried pilav which is an delicious Turkish rice with barley and a healthy green bean and tomato dish too.

On Tuesday we wrote thank you letters to Ayla’s mum and our handwriting skills are becoming very good. We are working hard to ensure we use spaces, our letters are formed correctly and are the correct height.  We’ll soon be ready to learn how to join our letters.

Our new Planning Board is now up and running. Thank you for all the contributions for our supermarket and pasta art table. Lots of new skills are being explored and developed and we are learning how to record these in our learning journals.

In Maths this week we have been using dienes materials to partition 3 digit numbers and then add them to other 3 digit numbers. It was tricky to begin with but on Thursday Oliver said, ‘ I’m getting the hang of this now that we have been working on it for a while.’ Well done!

Finally, keep learning ‘ Twa Leggit Mice’ at home as we won’t be reciting at assembly today as previously mentioned in last week’s post. New date still to be confirmed.

Happy Friday!
