Welcome Back :)

Welcome back to our blog, our first for 2019! We have been settling back into our routine this week. We shared some of our best moments from the holidays during our circle time on Monday morning, it was great to hear what everybody had been up to over the holidays.

We began reading some new novels this week. Some of us will be reading ‘Tilly and the Badgers’ and some of us will be reading ‘The Hundred-Mile An-Hour Dog’ we have enjoyed them so far. With Burns Night just a few weeks away we designed some persuasive posters with new Scottish drinks that we created, have a look at some of them below! They were very creative.

In Maths we have been looking at angles, we are gaining confidence in naming the different kinds. We have been exploring how right angles can be measured in degrees and how this links to fractions and compass points. We went outside to see how many different angles we could find in the playground then we compared these.

In PE we worked on improving our fitness through different challenges this week, we enjoyed the burps and push ups the most! We also began playing bench ball, it was great fun.

We spent time learning about the Epiphany after the feast day on Sunday, we learned how long the Christmas Season lasts for in the Church. We also learned about the meaning behind the three gifts brought by the wise men as they learned about the birth of Jesus the King.

We learned how to say ‘Happy New Year’ in a few different languages too.

We have started to learn a new song for our Burns Assembly, we’ll be practising it lots over the next few weeks.

Thanks for visiting our class blog this week.
