Happy New Year

It has been great to hear all the Christmas holiday stories this week. It sounds like everyone received brilliant Christmas gifts, enjoyed family time and a break from school. We hope all the mums and dads had a lovely time too.

It was straight back to learning new things this week. In Maths we looked at figuring what is required to be added to a two digit number to reach another two or three digit number. We used the ‘counting on’ strategy among others.

In our topic this week we talked about traditional Scottish and Italian foods. We discovered that you can make vegetarian versions of that Scottish favourite, the haggis! Next week we look forward to trying out a simple pizza recipe.

In Art we have been experimenting with sponges and different colours needed to create a beautiful winter sky. We realised that white paint is required to make darker colours paler.

Tune in next week for information about the Scottish poem we are going to be reciting. It’s called ‘Twa Leggit Mice’.

REMINDER – Meeting about the sacrament of Reconciliation is on January 21st. Letters went in bags on Wednesday.
