Literacy-

This week in literacy we were focusing on Media Studies. Media studies is where you focus on a film and pay attention to the trailer and front  cover of the film using the six elements of media, also known as the three C’s and three S’s. This is what they stand for; Colour, Character, Camera, Sound, Setting and storyline. We are looking at the new film Mary Poppins Returns, just by watching the trailer and looking at the front cover we already had a rough idea of what the film is about.

 

Topic-

This week as you know our topic is Japan,we started learning about the Japanese Samurai warrior. We learned that they wear several layers of clothing. Also we learned that before a Samurai went to battle they would fill their helmets with incense so if the were killed their opponent would bring back their head so they could smell the victory for ever.

 

Numeracy-

This week we are learning B.O.D.M.A.S and B stand for brackets, O is order, D is division, M is multiplication, A is addition and S is subtraction. We also started length.  We estimated objects and measured them to find out the true answer.
