We’ve had a busy few weeks leading up to the Christmas Holidays. In Language we have finished the Persuasive Writing Genre, we feel more confident in our ability to persuade the reader after this. We also completed our novels, we wrote reviews for these, we reflected well on what we had read. Lots of us even gave our books 5 stars! This week we have completed different literacy tasks on Christmas Adverts we have watched. We wrote a letter of appreciation for the ‘Greatest Gift’, created a visualiser for ‘Moz Monster’ then we made Story Boards for ‘Mog’s Calamity Christmas’
In Maths we have been working on algebraic thinking, looking at different number patterns. We have been working with function machines, we know that a function machine has an input and a different output depending on the function that has taken place. We havealso been doing work with 2d and 3d shapes this week.
We looked at the different dinosaur skeletons and then recreated our own on black paper with cotton buds.
We’ve enjoyed completing different art crafts in the lead up to Christmas. We have created Christmas Trees with pinecones and clothes pegs. We also learned how to draw the Grinch.
Last week we had a delicious Christmas Lunch, we were very thankful for all the effort the dinner ladies made to provide us with this, we decided to make them some cards to thank them.
One day a special visitor arrived in our classroom ‘Frank the Snowman’ we had a competition to see who could create the best replica of Frank, the entries were great!
We all enjoyed the Christmas Party this week with Primary 5c showing off all our best dance moves.
We’ve been busy the last few months and working hard, Miss Fitzgerald says we’ve all earned a rest.
Thank you for reading our blog in 2018, we hope you’ll come back and visit again in 2019. Miss Fitzgerald and Primary 5h would like to wish you a happy and holy Christmas.
