In Literacy this week we completed our novels, we reflected on them by writing book reviews. We look forward to starting new ones next week. We began a new genre in Story Writing, we are now doing “Recount” we looked carefully at the Core Targets then highlighted them in a sample text. We learned that we can use first person with this style of writing.
In Maths we have been learning about time, especially time management. We have looked at different calendars and used the skills we have learned to work out the dates for different events.
In Topic we have learned about the different types of food we can get from the Ocean, we carried out our own research to create some meals…some looked more delicious than others.
In Health and Well-Being this week we discussed manners and how the way we say things is often just as important as what we say. Today during Circle Time we shared with each other what we would like to do when we are older. It was great to hear, we had everything from
We went to Mass yesterday as it was a Holy Day of Obligation for All Saints Day, we were inspired by what we learned this week about the lives of different Saints. We like to ask different Saints to pray for us at the end of each day.
Miss Fitzgerald was very proud when almost all of our class put our names forward to become Mini Vinnies, it’s a new group in our school which is part of the Saint Vincent De Paul Organisation. There were ten children chose in total across P5-7 with a few from our class. We look forward to hearing about the work they carry out in the coming months.
For the next 4 weeks we are lucky enough to have some coaches from Fundamentals and NLC Active Schools coming in to work with our class. We really enjoyed the first week with this on Thursday.
