Room 1 – October

Literacy

In October we have been learning more new sounds.

We have learned f for frog. (Mayson)

We have learned t for tree. (Sam).

I was writing n in the sand and with paint.  N is for nest. (Angel)

Our story this month has been The Baby Owls.  We have been talking about what happened in the story and about how the owls were feeling.

The owls were sad and scared when their Mum went away. (Lily)

They were really happy at the end when she came back.  They were jumping and dancing. (Leathan).

Maths

In maths we have been learning to write 6s and 7s.  We have been playing lots of counting games using our Smartboard.  We have been enjoying doing activities on Sumdog to help us with our maths too.

                     

 

We have also been looking at 3D shapes.  We went on an outdoor shape walk round the school to find 3D shapes.

I saw a cone. (Blaine)

The balls in the nursery area are spheres. (Aiden)

The bottom of the bins a are cylinders and the lids are cones. (Katie)

We have been sorting our 3D shapes and playing lots of 3D shape games too.

       

Health.

This month Sid and Shanarri have been helping us to think about being active.

I am active when I go to gymnastics. (Mikayla)

I am active when I play football. (Kole)

I am active when I play in the park. (Billy Jai).

We have also been thinking about being Responsible.  We all try very hard to follow the class rules and be responsible in Room 1.

I listen well. (Muhammad)

I am responsible when I help my friends and play nicely. ( Kylan)

I am kind. (Simon).
