Parking near Auchinloch Primary School
Pupil Voice and Junior Road Safety Officers
To Parents and Carers
We would like to introduce ourselves.
Maya and Callum are the Junior Road Safety Officers.
Kayla, Talia, Charlie and Scott are the Pupil Voice.
We have noticed that people are parking on corners and very close to the school. All these cars increase the chances of children getting injured so we have come up with an idea.
We would like everyone to park further away, at least a two and a half minute walk from the school gate. We think that everyone, even toddlers, are capable of walking for two and a half minutes. It’s only 217 metres.
We measured the distance and time to 3 locations around the school and have marked these on a map to show you. (see below)
We took photographs at 3pm of the roads outside the school and they were really busy, but only 15 minutes later they were mostly cleared. We want to see clear roads at 9am and 3pm every day.
Can you help us by parking further away and taking a short walk? We hope so.
