Pupils in Primary 1 and 2 enjoyed visiting Almond Valley Heritage Park in Livingston on Tuesday. They saw lots of farm animals and even got to handle a lionhead rabbit, 2 guinea pigs and a pole cat called Shenanigans! We enjoyed going on our train ride and having a picnic lunch. The weather was good to us with the sun shining in the afternoon and so everyone got to enjoy
As part of our People Who Help Us Topic parents and family from the community were invited into Primary 2 to give a talk about their jobs and how they help people. We were so lucky to hear lots of stories about how they help people in their individual jobs. We heard from an Optician, Police Officer, Firefighter, Nurse, Hospital Activities Coordinator for the elderly and a Soldier. Thank you so
Well done to this pupil for her confidence in roller skating after taking some lessons!
P2 have been busy this week for the local craft bomb! They have painted symmetrical butterflies by painting one side very carefully and folding over the paper to make sure the other half is the same. We have also decorated yoghurt pots and filled them with our homemade birdseed mix: lard birdseed porridge raisins We hope the birds like it! You will see our work decorating the school fence and
The children have been very busy planning and preparing their own outdoor learning activities. They are now ready to be tested at our next Leadership Academy! Well done everyone!
To celebrate World Book Day P7 enjoyed paired reading with either their P1 buddy or a P2 pupil. Well done P7! The younger pupils really enjoyed this!
There was lots of active learning in the playground as Primary 2 pupils used chalk to draw grids and find the coordinates. It helped pupils remember to start along the bottom and walk up to find their grid reference. We made it into a game and if they landed on a drawing they were frozen to the spot.
Pupils have learnt how to work in small groups building a tower out of plastic cups and plates. Easy you may think but they also had to do it in silence and quickly learnt how to give directions using body language and hand signals. Everyone did a fabulous job in completing the task! The class are also becoming experts at trying out the different massage techniques on each other and
Pupils in P2 enjoyed having their parents and guardians in for the second time this year. This time our learning was about 3D shape. We built 3D shapes using lollipop sticks and marshmallows and talked about the properties of each of them. We also sorted 2D and 3D shapes. It was a fantastic turnout and thanks to everyone who came!
