P2 Solo Talks 👏

A huge congratulations to all the pupils in P2 as they confidently spoke for 1 minute about a famous Scot as part of their homework task.  I was blown away by your research and creativity preparing your own drawings or informative PowerPoints.  Thanks to all the people at home for supporting you in achieving this. Well done! 🙂

P5 Special Diet Presentations

P5 have been working in small groups to research different special diets. Four different diets were studied: Vegetarian, Halal, Celiac and Diabetes. Pupils had to prepare information posters and present their findings to the class. Children had to listen carefully to the facts for the three diets they had not researched and they had to record any new facts they learned. Great work P5!

P7 French Food

P7 have been learning french foods and creating their own personal menus. Some children have been able to use their menus to role play as a waiter/waitress and customer. Super effort P7!

Robert Owen – Solo Talks in P5

P5 have been working hard at home preparing their Solo Talks on Robert Owen. The children have been presenting their work this week and we have been learning all about this interesting man in time for our class trip to New Lanark next week! Great work everyone!

P6 Open Event

In Primary 6 we created a ‘character from the boots up’.  Each group chose a number and inside their bag was a pair of shoes.  The task  for each pair or trio was to decide who might own these shoes and create a mind map describing the characters: appearance, personality, fears…. After playtime each child drew their character and wrote a story using this as the main character.

World Book Day 2019

We’re enjoying a great day celebrating World Book Day today. Lots of the children dressed as their favourite book character while others dressed down. Primary 6 have been reading to Primary 2 and other activities are taking place in classes throughout the school. The Pupil Council have organised a quiz and made book marks to sell. The money raised will go to Book Aid. Please bring all quiz sheets back

P2 Solo Talks

Primary 2 pupils have been preparing for delivering a short solo talk  to the class.  They were to interview someone in their family about the job they do and could bring props, photos or use PowerPoint.  Miss Lalmy and Mrs Matheson thought the talks were outstanding and everyone had clearly worked very hard.  It was fun to hear about the different types of jobs people do!  It has certainly helped
