The Rights Respecting School Steering Group launched a whole school competition to design a school mascot for RRS. Thank you to everyone for their hard work. The children certainly had a difficult choice choosing the winner. Congratulations to Holly in P6 who created ‘Roxy Rights.’ She is fab!!
Today in Primary 6 we were trying to make pea pods. During the art process it was very messy but really fun! They enjoyed painting and getting messy. The day was really fun and Peter Rabbits garden is going to look tasty! (Rosa and Morgan)
P5 had a very busy week. They worked in small groups to design, resource and make Easter Bonnets. Their success criteria for the task was to work cooperatively in their groups and make sure they all took an equal part in the design and in making the bonnet. The children worked very hard and put together some marvellous creations!!! Fantastic work P5 😀👍🎩🐤🐣🐥🦋🐰
What a fabulous day Aitkenhead Primary had as we celebrated ‘International Day of Happiness.’ HUGE thanks to Mrs McGown for her super artwork, Miss Hesford for delivering awesome dance classes to all pupils and Mr Fitzpatrick for his fantastic, entertaining Magic Show. A special thanks to the Parent Council for their support which allowed our very hardworking Rights Respecting School Steering Group members to wear their very own t-shirts designed
The whole school enjoyed a visit by M&M travelling Theatre Company performing Oliver Twist last Wednesday. The boys and girls enjoyed their interactive show and some lucky P1’s were picked to go up on stage!
P5 have been very busy making cards for their loved ones containing nice Valentine’s Day messages. They were very excited to use shiny card. Here they are hard at work 😃
This morning P5 started a new gymnastics block in P.E. They worked with a partner to match and mirror each other’s actions and movements. They then worked in small groups to perform movements in canon ~ one at a time. Next week they will progress to using these 3 techniques on the apparatus. Great work P5!
P4-7 participated in a drama workshop this afternoon delivered by Takeaway Productions. Pupils enjoyed watching a very important production about the concept of bullying and then took part in a workshop afterwards to discuss the content and think about how the story ends. Pupil participation was excellent and Sam (P7), Amy (P6) and Jamie (P5) really enjoyed being Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and David Walliams. Their face masks made us
P5 had loads of fun learning some Michael Jackson moves which they then used to create their own sequence of steps. They danced to THRILLER and worked very well in their small groups. Check out their moves!
Well done to P5 for making fabulous 3D Mosques for their homework task. You all worked very hard with excellent results! Everyone in school really enjoyed admiring them as they passed. Thank you to all parents for your support and encouragement with this.
