LCSC Easter Assembly

What a great morning we all had!

It started off with a wonderful Easter Assembly led by the pupils in LCSC . We were taken on a bear hunt, learned about signs of Springtime , heard the Easter story and enjoyed fantastic performances from each class We are all so very proud of each and every one of you who participated.

We hope that all of our visitors, including pupils from Overtown Primary enjoyed the show and we thank them all for joining us.

Easter Fun!

P2.4 have enjoyed doing a variety of Spring and Easter themed activities this week and really enjoyed  designing and creating their Easter bonnets in class.  Some super decorated hard boiled eggs for homework which we rolled down a hill….Andrew wanted to use the slide on the climbing frame! Happy Easter to everyone!

Orchard Primary’s Playground

Last year some P6 pupils were involved in a pupil engagement programme that was set up to involve the children in some decisions for their new School.

Those P6 pupils are now P.7’s, and they were invited up to the new Clyde Valley High School yesterday for some feedback from the architect who had been helping them through the process.

(Cory did manage a smile but unfortunately, by that point, I had no battery left in the camera).

We were all very excited to be in the new building, it is so amazing!

The designs for our new playground look great and I am really proud of our pupils for their excellent ideas; they were commended by the architect.

A special mention has to go to Codi, who had 2 brilliant ideas which are now being used in the new building: We will all be looking out for a caterpillar on the ground at the entrance, and an amazing 3D metalwork display that we will be able to enjoy when we go for lunch.

Easter Egg Nests

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Pupils in Primary 1/2/3 were making Easter egg nests with Mrs Murray yesterday.

They were very careful to start by thoroughly washing their hands (and let’s just say that after the bowl and spoon licking, hands and faces needed to be washed again! ;-)) Everyone got a chance to stir the chocolate into the rice crispies and then make their nests, topping them off with some chocolate eggs.

There was a funny moment when John said, “Our next task is to eat them!” although in the warmth of the playroom it seemed to take forever for the chocolate to set!
