Articulate Language Camps

On Thursday and Friday of last week the school welcomed the staff of Articulate Language camps, on a mission to promote Modern Languages among pupils at Coltness High. S3 pupils thoroughly enjoyed taking part in day-long workshops in either Enterprise or Film-making with Modern Languages staff. They developed a whole range of creative, linguistic and social skills while at the same time seeing French in a new light! Well done – the finished videos you all created are fantastique! After the tragedy in Paris on Friday 13th of November, the Modern Language Department wanted to ensure the pupils & staff of Coltness High School could share their support & condolences for the people of Paris & citizens around the world, with our Pray for Paris graffiti board.

Barratt Homes on Coltness Road/Rowan Street

Barratt Homes have just started to commence work on the above site and are temporarily using access from Rowan St to enter this. The main access however will be from Coltness Road and they are awaiting approval from North Lanarkshire Council to allow a 4 way traffic signalisation junction. They are refusing entry to delivery trucks to their site before the start of the school day, at lunch time and then again at the end of the school day. They have the safety of members of the public, in particular our school children, at the top of their list of priorities. They apologise for any inconvenience caused so far and they will monitor the situation on a daily basis as the site progresses.
