Book Week Scotland – ‘Rebel’

To celebrate Book Week Scotland, Coltness High School held a quiz centred around this year’s theme of ‘rebel’.  The quiz questions were all book related and using the first letter of every correct answer this spelt the name of a famous Scottish noble who led a ‘rebellion’ against King Edward 1 of England. The answer was William Wallace and the prize draw winner was a pupil from first year. Well done to everyone who had the correct answer!

Author, Martin Stewart Visits Second Year Pupils’

Former teacher of English, now turned author Martin Stewart, visited some of our second year pupils today in the library. He gave us an insight into how he became an author and talked about his two novels entitled ‘Riverkeep’ and ‘The Sacrifice Box’. Hopefully some of the pupils will have been enthused enough to put pen to paper and begin writing themselves. His books can be found in the school library.
