S1 Library Competition Winner!
It was difficult to choose the best design from the entries received from S1 pupils’ for the library ‘Design a Bookmark’ competition. The entries were all great but here is our worthy winner holding his winning bookmark. Part of his prize was to have his brilliant design made into a Coltness High School bookmark. The reverse side of the bookmark has our school logo and lists many of the benefits people get from reading. Well done!!!

You may recall that we carried out a Snap Poll in early October to establish the views of Parents on the delivery of the 2020/21 exam diet. We are now looking to capture the views of parents/carers across the country. It is clear that COVID is impacting everyone differently across the various Local Authority regions and in some schools the level of disruption to our young people’s learning is significant, yet in other areas of the country there is little impact. With that in mind we would like to know to what extent, if any, parents and carers are concerned about the impact the current health restrictions will have on their child’s preparation for Higher and Advanced Higher exams. Senior Prom 2019/20
Sadly, a decision has been made to cancel the Senior Prom for S6 session 2019/20. This was rescheduled for 29th November 2020 but, once again, restrictions have forced cancellation. After discussion with the pupils involved we have now decided to cancel the event and refund all ticket money. To request a refund please send the following details to enquiries@coltnesshigh.n-lanark.sch.uk Please include Full Name ( cheque payable to) If you have a sibling at school please provide their name and class. Otherwise, please provide an address and the cheque will be posted to you. We are sorry that we were unable to celebrate with our S6 in our traditional way and send our best wishes to all of them.

Awareness Raising Session for Parents & Carers
There are limited spaces remaining on the awareness raising session offered by Barnardos for Parents and Carers in North Lanarkshire. Please find details below. This course seeks to equip parents with knowledge around alcohol and cannabis. It is suitable for parents of P7-S6 pupils in North Lanarkshire schools, and there is no cost attached.
