GOOD LEARNING ALERTS We show respect for each other. COLTNESS MOVIE AFTERNOON – S1 &S2 There will be a movie afternoon on Thursday 24th March, period 5-7 in the school theatre. Any S1 and S2 pupils interested can buy a ticket from Miss McAndrew at morning intervals in the Pupil Support base (languages corridor). Tickets are £3 and will be on sale for two weeks in the lead up to the event. Get your ticket fast so you’re not left disappointed! They will sell out fast! A snack stall will be there on the day so you can buy some munchies to enjoy the complete movie experience. All proceeds will go to Vision Africa, so come along, kick back and enjoy a movie

Congratulations David Turnbull and Motherwell FC U20s
On Sunday Motherwell FC U20s booked their place in the U20 Scottish Cup Final at Hampden on the 27th April with a comprehensive 3 0 victory over Ross County at Victoria Park. Sports Persons’ Night Friday 26th February
The school’s 2nd annual Sports Persons’ Night was on Friday night in the Cambusnethan Miners’ Club and yet again was an absolutely fantastic night with speakers Dick Campbell and John Gahagan going down a storm to the crowd of about 90 teachers, parents and friends. The estimated profit for the night was £1600 and will be confirmed later on today. The hidden team top prize of £100 was won by Katie MacLeod. The Gleneagles Four Ball went for £300 (thanks to Dick Campbell for donating this), the Scotland rugby ball for £150, the Rangers strip for £140, the Celtic strip £120, the Scotland strip £110, Fernando Ricksen print £80, Bud Jonstone canvas £70, Motherwell strip £70 and three Kevin Bridges DVDs went for
Barratt Homes on Coltness Road/Rowan Street
Barratt Homes have just started to commence work on the above site and are temporarily using access from Rowan St to enter this. The main access however will be from Coltness Road and they are awaiting approval from North Lanarkshire Council to allow a 4 way traffic signalisation junction. They are refusing entry to delivery trucks to their site before the start of the school day, at lunch time and then again at the end of the school day. They have the safety of members of the public, in particular our school children, at the top of their list of priorities. They apologise for any inconvenience caused so far and they will monitor the situation on a daily basis as the site progresses.

Rachel Turner 4A2, Erin McIlquham 4A2, Katelyn Meechan 4A2 and Emma Watt 4L2 were placed 2nd and 3rd in The Scottish Makeup Artistry competition held in New College Lanarkshire last Monday. The girls will now compete in the UK final in Blackpool! CONGRATULATIONS: ADVANCED HIGHER FASHION BRAND RETAILING Naomi Findlay and Kirsty Kennedy of 6A achieved exceptional marks in their recent assessments at Caledonian University where they are studying Advanced Higher Fashion Brand and Retailing. FORMAL COMMITTEE MEETING Period 7, Monday 1st February in the Conference Room. SCHOOL SHOW The school show this year will be “Little Shop of Horrors”, running from 21st to 23rd June. Auditions will take place on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd February in the Music department during lunchtime. Anyone interested in auditioning for an onstage part should see Mrs Scoular or Miss Murray if they haven’t already done so.
