The school’s 2nd annual Sports Persons’ Night was on Friday night in the Cambusnethan Miners’ Club and yet again was an absolutely fantastic night with speakers Dick Campbell and John Gahagan going down a storm to the crowd of about 90 teachers, parents and friends. The estimated profit for the night was £1600 and will be confirmed later on today.

The hidden team top prize of £100 was won by Katie MacLeod.

The Gleneagles Four Ball went for £300 (thanks to Dick Campbell for donating this), the Scotland rugby ball for £150, the Rangers strip for £140, the Celtic strip £120, the Scotland strip £110, Fernando Ricksen print £80, Bud Jonstone canvas £70, Motherwell strip £70 and three Kevin Bridges DVDs went for £30.

Next year’s planning is already underway with both Murdo MacLeod (ex Celtic, Hibs, Dortmund & Scotland) and Jimmy Nichol (ex Rangers, Man Utd & Northern Ireland) pencilled in. The date will be Friday 24th February 2017, again in the Cambusnethan Miners Club. We hope to see you there! If you want tickets contact the school office after the Christmas holidays.

Coltness High would like to thank John, Dick and all the staff at the Cambusnethan Club for making Friday such an enjoyable and profitable night.
