The following activities will take place for Dyslexia Awareness Week:
- Blue ribbons worn by staff and pupils across the school.
- Through PHSE pupils will be shown a power point and video clip. They will also have the opportunity to participate in a Dyslexia quiz.
- Some classes will have the opportunity to participate in a ‘No pens lesson’ which will encourage talking and listening rather than reading and writing.
- All departments will display their new ‘Classroom Friendly Poster’ which has been compiled by Support for Learning and looks at strategies to help pupils with dyslexia throughout lessons and beyond.
- Support for Learning have also updated the notice boards at the front door with information on Dyslexia and have a presentation being shown through the TVs for all to view, across the week.
