The school presented former pupil Leigh Gorman with a cheque for £105 as a contribution towards her volunteering trip with Gap Medics to Africa.  Leigh plans to spend four weeks, next January/February 2017, as a volunteer at a hospital and orphanage where she will gain invaluable hospital work experience.  The trip will hopefully help her to pursue her dream of studying nursing at Edinburgh’s Napier University, “I am passionate about getting into the course at Napier and about volunteering.  Right now, I’m feeling a mix of nerves and excitement.” Leigh is still in need of donations to fund her trip and her next event is a race night in Parkhead next month.
