A brace from Robbie Brown helped Braidhurst U14s see off a determined Wallace High School in their 3rd round tie in the Scottish Cup. Two great saves from Ryan Renwick prevented the hosts from taking the lead in an even first half but the deadlock would soon be broken. A great cross delivered by Cameron Campbell was met by the head of Robbie who guided the ball past their keeper. A second quickly followed as a corner kick failed to be cleared by the Wallace defence and Robbie lashed the ball into the net with a left footed strike. After half-time Wallace halved the deficit and made Braidhurst work hard for their victory but the visitors held on to ensure progress to the 4th round of the Scottish Cup. They will now play the winners of Graeme HS or Our Lady’s HS Cumbernauld. Final score: Wallace HS 1-2 Braidhurst HS.
