Pupils from 3XL, who are working towards their bronze Duke of Edinburgh award, have just returned from their practice expedition sessions. The award includes spending two days and one night outside, living under canvas. For this session the group were in the spectacular area of Strathyre in the foothills of the Trossachs. After a day’s hiking, the pupils had to pitch their tents and cook their evening meal. The following morning the group spent the day heading further into the hills, before heading back to school.
The pupils returned happy, albeit tired and with aching limbs. They are looking forward to their “assessed” expedition in a few weeks’ time. This time they will head for Fife on the east coast of Scotland. All they need now is some sunshine!
