Description of Course

This course aims to provide pupils with a deeper and wider understanding of the physical environment, human environment, and the relationships between them, building on previous learning and adding some new concepts and theories.  It also extends skills which pupils developed at National 4 and 5 which are valuable when seeking employment.

  • Physical Environment
  • Human Environment
  • Global Issues
  • Application of Geographical skills
  • Assignment

Teaching  involves groupwork, individual work, use of ICT and fieldwork.

Homework

Revision, reading, completion of notes, set exercises and practice questions will be set as necessary.

Assessment

The topics covered will be assessed through homework and practice exam questions.  Students must achieve the standards required in all areas of study and submit an assignment on a topic of their choice. The assignment contributes to the overall course award.
