This week is Walk to School Week. Today we got a leaflet, bookmark and sticker from the JRSO reminding us of the importance to WALK TO SCHOOL.
This links in with our topic on ‘Weather and Climate Change’ as we’re trying to think of ways to reduce our Carbon Footprint and Global Warming.
Why not try one of these ways of getting to school this week, INSTEAD of the car?:
- Walking
- Cycling
- Skateboarding
- Scooting
You do however have to make sure you are being SAFE whilst using these travel methods. In the darker nights, we need to make sure that we: ‘BE SAFE- BE SEEN’. We should:
- Wear bright, fluorescent clothing.
- Have lights/reflectors on our bikes.
- Wear helmets and protective clothing when going on our bikes, skateboards and scooters.
- LOOK LEFT- RIGHT and LEFT AGAIN when crossing the road.

The message is always wear safety gear and always look where you’re going
The message is always wear safety gear even when your just going to your friends house.
I think the mane message is to wear bright cloths at night,and if you are going to cross a road make sure that you walk and don’t run.
Ouch! What happened to Amir MUST have hurt! Poor him.
Wear a helmet when you are cycling even if you are just testing it and if you want a good job when you are older then don’t go without a helmet, reflecters/lights or anything else that could keep you safe.
The main message is: Be Safe Be Seen.
I think Amirs’ message is that you should never take a risk and always wear a helmet and reflective clothing or reflective things.
