We know that this year, the transition from Primary to High School is going to be very different. Usually we would have paper copies or digital copies for schools to use as part of their every day activities. This year, we are looking at using this site to link in with pupils, parents and staff with a particular focus on answering questions. Some of these questions will be school specific. Others will be generalised questions. We can offer support to schools, parents and pupils on this.
When supporting transitions, it is important to recognise that it is okay to say “We don’t know yet, but we will let you know when we know.” The young person needs their question acknowledged and needs to know they have been heard, almost as much as they need their question answered!
