At St Francisā, we believe pupils should not only learn about their rights. They should have meaningful opportunities to use their voice, share their ideas and help shape school life.
That is where our Rights Ambassadors come in!
ā Meet Our Rights Ambassadors
Every class at St Francisā has its own Rights Ambassador, ensuring that pupil voice is represented from across our school.
Our ambassadors listen to the views and ideas of their classmates, bring these to our meetings and help share important messages about childrenās rights throughout the school.
They have an exciting and important part to play as we continue our journey towards Gold.
š¬ Thursdays Are Ambassador Days!
Every Thursday, our Rights Ambassadors come together to talk, listen, share, plan and take action.
Our meetings give ambassadors the opportunity to bring forward ideas from their classes, explore childrenās rights and discuss what we can do to make rights even more visible and meaningful across St Francisā.
Most importantly, our Thursday meetings are a place where pupil ideas can become action.

Article 12: Respect for Childrenās Views
Every child has the right to express their views on matters that affect them and for those views to be taken seriously.

Article 12 is at the heart of the work of our Rights Ambassadors.
Pupils have regular opportunities to share their views, contribute ideas and take part in discussions about our Rights Respecting journey. Our ambassadors listen to their classmates, bring their views to our Thursday meetings and report back to their classes.
This helps pupils see that their views are valued and can make a difference.

The work of our Rights Ambassadors brings other childrenās rights to life too.
š¬ Article 13: Freedom of Expression
Our pupils have the right to share their thoughts, ideas and opinions. Rights Ambassadors help create opportunities for these ideas to be heard and shared across our school.
š¤ Article 15: Joining Groups
Children have the right to meet with others and join groups. Every Thursday, our Rights Ambassadors come together to share ideas, listen to one another and work towards positive change.

Through having a voice, expressing their ideas and coming together with others, our pupils are learning that rights are not simply something we talk about. They are something we experience and put into action at St Francisā.
