Rights in action, every day
At St Francis, every class creates a Class Charter together. Pupils explore the rights that are important to them and consider how these rights can be respected in their classroom.
Our Class Charters are based on articles from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). They help make rights part of everyday school life and support classrooms where everyone feels safe, respected, included and listened to.
Created Together
Pupils are actively involved in discussing and choosing the rights respected in their Class Charter. This gives every child the opportunity to contribute and understand what these rights mean in practice.

Our charters are not simply displays on our walls. They are referred to throughout the year and help guide our relationships, learning and the way we treat one another.
