If your child will be 5 years old before
1st March 2018 then it’s time for School
There will be an announcement in the newspapers and notices in the Royston area giving the exact dates and times. Parents should ensure they bring their child’s birth certificate and verification of their home address.
When you come to the school, you will meet the Principal Teacher or the Head Teacher, who will fill in the necessary enrolment forms and answer any questions you may have. Later, all the children will be invited along to 3 school visits in May when they can meet their new teacher and their classmates.
The school has formed strong relationships with the local Nursery school and staff from the Nursery are committed to supporting children’s transition to Primary school and help out on at least the first day, to give the children a familiar face on their big day.
We must point out that, Section 30 of the 1980 Education Act lays a duty on every parent of a child of “school age” to ensure that their child attends school regularly
