The Rookie Rockstars are back and have been working with the boys and girls preparing them for our concerts next week. Our concerts last year were a huge success. We have no doubt that this years will be even better. It is the expectation that all pupils attend and perform in the concert. Primary 5/4 really enjoyed looking at the Ancient Egyptian artefacts. They particularly enjoyed taking part in the role play of Mummification and learning all the gory details.

The boys and girls in Primary 1a love to read books and listen to stories. On Tuesday, we all visited our school library to borrow a book to enjoy back in class. There was a fantastic choice of books and we hope to visit every week to change our books. A huge thank you to our librarians Salome and Ryan who did a great job of helping us!
On Wednesday, we explored our local area by taking a little walk along Broomfield Road. During our walk, we saw lots of different things including the local shops (greengrocer, hairdresser, take away and a dentist), busy roads with lots of traffic, two parks (Broomfield Park and Springburn Park) amongst other things. Primary 1a have been working very hard in the Challenge Room this week. They have been having great fun counting words in sentences. Well done!
The boys and girls in Primary 1a have been doing lots of writing this week. We have all been Star Writers by remembering to include a CAPITAL letter, finger spaces and a full stop in every sentence that we write. We have also been trying really hard to use the lines to make sure we do our letters the correct shape and size. Look at how clever we all are…..
Primary 7a had a great morning yesterday when Ms Miller from the English department at Springburn Academy came down to work with them on Active Reading Strategies.
