Morning everyone! Attached is a copy of the Numeracy Newspaper with activities for children in second level (P5-7). The stories focus on news from the past week and the numbers behind them. It is a great way for pupils to develop their numeracy skills  and apply them in new and unfamiliar contexts! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

It has been a very busy and fun-filled week at Balornock as we get ready for the festive season! We are all getting ready for the P1 Nativity next week, had a trip to Barmulloch library for Sleeping Beauty Panto and finished the week off with our annual Christmas Fayre! Here are some of Santa’s little helpers (a.k.a our House Captains) decorating our school’s Christmas tree!  

Collaborative Committees!!

This term our Pupil Council have teamed up with our Health Committee members to work on an Anti-Bullying Competition. Today they did some amazing team work when working together in mixed groups to decide on the best entries. There was lots of great discussion and decision-making going on through the judging process. Here are some snaps of them hard at work!  

Term 1 House Winners!!

This term Kelvin were the winning house! As a reward we are off to Springburn Park on Wednesday afternoon for fun and games. We will leave the school at 1.15pm and return to the school for 2.45pm. All our Kelvin parents and carers are welcome to join us! Can we remind all pupils of Kelvin to wear appropriate footwear for the park and to remember and bring a warm, waterproof

Ready…Steady…Cook!!

Our after school Cooking Club kicked off this week and wow we have some very talented chefs in Balornock!  Our club will run for the next three weeks. Each week the boys and girls will make a starter, main and desert and on the final week, they will invite a special guest along to serve and enjoy the meal they have prepared.
