Ready…Steady…Cook!!
Our after school Cooking Club kicked off this week and wow we have some very talented chefs in Balornock! Our club will run for the next three weeks. Each week the boys and girls will make a starter, main and desert and on the final week, they will invite a special guest along to serve and enjoy the meal they have prepared.
This week we were making our tasty starter which was Tomato and Basil Soup. Some of the children went to Asda to buy the ingredients and were able to apply their maths skills when working out total costs, working within a budget and trying to work out the best money saving deals!
Back at school the group worked really well as a team, following instructions, chopping veg and measuring ingredients before cooking the ingredients in soup makers.

Next week the group will be further developing their culinary skills by making a mouth-watering White Chocolate Cheesecake!
