Marie Curie

Last term our school held a fundraising event to raise money for the Marie Curie Charity. The whole school took part in a Daffodil Tea, performing songs and poems to our parents, carers and local community members.  They sat back and watched our performances whilst enjoying a range of delicious cakes with a tea or coffee. WW2

Today the boys and girls in Primary 7a have been really busy making gas masks. They have been learning all about the ways people tried to stay safe during the war. 

Exploring WW2 in P7a

This term we are all learning about World War 2 as part of our Social Studies topic. Over the last few weeks we have been learning about Evacuation and discussing what it must have been like for children during the war. In class we made Identity cards and did some role play sharing thoughts and feelings on the experiences of evacuated children.

Ceilidh highlights

Here are a few highlights from our senior Ceilidh held at the end of January to celebrate the learning carried out on Scotland and Robert Burns. The boys and girls in P6 and P7 have worked really hard this term learning the steps to lots of Scottish country dances. Everyone had a great night! 🙂

Active Reading in P7a

Primary 7a had a great morning yesterday when Ms Miller from the English department at Springburn Academy came down to work with them on Active Reading Strategies. She was very impressed with everyones work and we are all looking forward to her next visit in a few weeks. #transtition #successfullearners  

Scottish Celebrations!

Our annual Burns ceilidh for our senior pupils (P6-p7) will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 26th January from 4pm-5.30pm. Parents and carers are more than welcome to come and join us for an afternoon of fun and dancing! All pupils must be collected from our lower gym hall at 5.30pm.  Time to look out the tartan and your best dancing shoes!!

Christmas holidays are here!
