P7A – Miss Hunter

Welcome to P7a

Literacy

We have been looking at different techniques to help persuade the reader. We have found examples of techniques in different sources and then applied this to our own writing. We have then progressed this to focus on creating balanced arguments

We have also worked on asking and answering a range of questions, through sources we have read and listened to.

Numeracy

We have been developing strategies such as split, jump and formal to solve a range of calculations. We have developed our problem-solving skills by using these strategies to solve word problems.

In money, we explored budgets and how to work with money effectively to help us in the wider world. We then transferred these skills to help us with Festive Fun.

We created investigations to help us understand how probability works.

Health and Wellbeing

In PE we have been working on our central net techniques through sports like badminton and tennis. This has helped develop our hand-eye coordination and decision-making skills. We have work individually and in teams to do this. We have worked as large teams to create strategies to create a common goal.

Interdisciplinary learning

Climate and adaptations

We have been researching different climates from around the world. We have been investigating different species and their adaptations to survive in their environments.

Festive Fun

We worked as a stage to design, manufacture and advertise our Festive Fun products. We voted for different names, logos and slogans that the children came up with themselves. We enjoyed making out products as Chronicle Cards and loved selling them at the Christmas Fayre to friends, family and the wider community.

Together We Learn. Together We Achieve.
