Numeracy 

At the moment, pupils have been working on the following topics:

– Addition and subtraction, where pupils are encouraged to use both conceptual materials and mental maths skills to solve number problems.

– Money to £2 and £10 in a range of scenarios.

– Fractions, decimals and percentages.

– Measurement of length, height, width; weight and capacity using a range of materials.

 

Literacy 

This term we have been working on:

– Writing persuasively.

– Using colourful semantics to create our own sentences.

– Using word mats and clicker grids to help.

– Writing independently, ensuring to use capital letters and full stops.

 

HWB 

This term we have been speaking a lot about safety of different kinds, such as Internet, fire, road and water. Recently, we have been discussing how to be a good friend and ensure our class is a safe place for others – in line with our school values of kindness, respect and safe.

The children have embraced kindness in and out of class and this really shows in how well they all work with one another outside at break/lunch time, and also how well we work as a team when completing projects in and outdoors.
