Literacy:
In Literacy we have been reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and we have enjoyed linking some of our writing activities to the book. This term we have also started using Epic Reading during some of our Reading slots. We have been enjoying having access to a wider range of stories as well as audiobooks.
Numeracy:
Over the past few weeks in Numeracy, we have been practising the Formal Written method for subtracting and adding. Some of us even pushed ourselves further by giving word problems a go. We have also spent some time working on symmetry and area and perimeter.
Health and Wellbeing:
To help us understand the different characters and their actions in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, we have been using the Emotion Works cogs.
Science:
In Science we have been learning about electricity, where it comes from and how it works. We used Book Creator to show our understanding of where electricity comes from and how to stay safe around electricity. We also enjoyed making our own circuits.
