Literacy:
We have continued to learn a wealth of sounds, moving into diagraphs (2 letter sounds). We have been using these sounds to blend new words up to 4/5 letters. In writing, we have been focussing on character description using adjectives to describe a range of different characters. We have continued to enjoy regular library visits.
Numeracy:
We have been learning about money and time. We have been linking this to learning about the seasons and have been noticing signs of Spring. We enjoyed an outdoor art lesson drawing daffodils. We also focussed on number processes including ordering and sorting sequences, finding missing numbers, doubling and halving. We revisited number bonds to 10 which helped when calculating change to 10p.
HWB:
We completed units on hockey and netball during PE and really enjoyed highland dancing sessions! We learned about the human body, finding out about different bones and organs. We continued to promote positive relationships amongst friends and we learned about and tried, some healthy fruit.
Other Curricular Areas:
P1 really enjoyed a trip to the National Galleries in Edinburgh. There were opportunities to become artists and create lots of different craft pieces. Children also observed and discussed some of the art pieces throughout the gallery. A great day for everyone!
Term 3 marks the end of our music sessions with StAMP. The children showcased their learning demonstrating signing, using musical instruments and fabulous listening skills. Well done all!
