Literacy
We have been developing our reading skills this term. We have been learning to segment and blend different sounds and words. We are developing our comprehension skills by using these words in sentences.
We have been developing our social skills by doing lots of group work activities. We have been watching videos, listening to stories and then making fact files and labels for our Rainforest topic display. Our favourite part is when we have to do quizzes and answer ‘did you know…..?’ type questions.

Numeracy
We have been learning how to SUBTRACT. We have been playing lots of adding games on Topmarks. We are learning to use a number line to ‘jump back’ and find the answer. Some of us have been doing chimney sums where we have to borrow from the tens to give us enough ones to take away. We have also been learning about different words for subtraction such as less than, minus and find the difference.

HWB
We are still enjoying our lunchtime Boccia club. We are developing our team work skills this session by playing games against each other to get team points. We are also working with the East Fife Community coaches for Football on a Wednesday morning. We have been working hard in our gym lessons with Miss Turner -working on different skills such as throwing, catching and changing the speed at which we move. We enjoyed practising for and then doing our Sports Day.

Other Learning
We have been enjoying our Rainforest topic. We are learning about the different layers of the rainforest and which animals live in each. We have worked together to create a wonderful display showing the layers and the animals. We have been using different materials to print and create realistic looking animals.

Star Moments
Ben has been developing his co-ordination skills during his sessions at the Golf Range. He is learning to aim at the golf ball and hit with the correct force.
