PEP ~ Yellow Room

In yellow room we have been learning to recognise and use core words. Some of us are now tapping the core board to communicate words like “again”, “more”, “yes” and “no”. Louis represented our class at assembly and used a recordable button to share a Scottish poem.
In maths we are learning about money and have been using 1 p coins to buy and sing about 5 Currant Buns. We continue to learn about the days of the week and have been participating in counting activities.
In Health and Wellbeing lots of us are learning to play alongside other children and be able to share space and toys. Our primary 1s have been going to the PE hall to join in the Physical Literacy sessions with the mainstream classes.
Our topic has been about the Scottish weather, and we have been making rainy day pictures, exploring the weather through our sensory story and sensory trays filled with ice and water. We also made woolly hats and printed tartan kilts using cars in paint.
We have enjoyed having Kirstin from Drake music in to help us explore instruments and enjoy making music together. The children particularly enjoyed the drum machine, saxophone and accordion.
After the February holiday we begin learning about growth and Spring.
