Literacy
We have been learning about nouns, verbs & adjectives .We have been playing lots of online games on Topmarks and Wordwall. We are learning to use these in our sentences and to describe different people and objects. We can give examples such as ‘ the SHINY dress’, The lady is PRETTY’ and ‘ The cat is fat and fluffy’.
We have continued to work on our communication skills. Taking turns and communicating with others in different ways such as using our words, our feelings mat, our talkers and by sign along. We have been demonstrating different signs at assembly and are beginning to use in the playground too.
Numeracy
We have been learning all about money. We have been identifying coins and notes, counting amounts of money and making amounts using different coins. We love the toy shop game on Topmarks. We have worked with each other to play shops in class and used real coins to ‘buy and sell’ objects.
HWB
We have been enjoying our Thursday lunchtime Boccia club. We are learning different throwing and passing skills to support us in playing Boccia. We get to work in teams and have fun, competitive games.
Other Learning
As part of our life skills learning, we have been been working on identifying hazards in the kitchen and how to keep safe. We have watched lots of videos and talked about what we would change or do to make things better and safer. We have also been working hard on trying new things such as eating a school dinner, playing with different people in the playground and using our new sensory toys in the classroom.
Star Moments
Axel has been working very hard recently on his own project based around Space. He has been completing daily missions and has been using hnis I-pad confidently and independently to do some research on different astronauts and planets, and has then been making posters and fact files to share his findings.
Millie recently spent the week at Ardroy with some of the P7 pupils. She pushed herself out of her comfort zone by trying new activities, she did everything with a smile on her face and developed so many personal skills by being independent and confident.
