Literacy:
Writing: P4 have been focusing on procedural writing, tools for writing, reading for information, and also learned about different types of poems, some of which will be shared at the Spring Service.
Reading: We have been focusing on developing a variety of reading skills, including fluency, expression, increasing our sight words, and reading for enjoyment. We have explored what reading looks like – for example reading for enjoyment (fiction and non-fiction), reading for information, reading texts, emails, instructions, directions, birthday cards, letters, etc.
Numeracy:
This term we have been learning about money, multiplication and division (looking at strategies to calculate large numbers), fractions. We have also had fun with data collection and displaying data in a few different types of charts.
Health & Wellbeing:
We have been learning to recognise that we have similarities and differences but are all unique.
Other Curricular Areas:
We have been rehearsing for the Spring service which we linked in with meta-skills and also the life cycle of a plant. One of our class evenĀ grew an apple tree from seed and so far it has reached 12cm. We have had lots of pupils sharing their success outside of school, including inĀ gymnastics, football and sharing items they have created at home.
