Dear Parent/Carer,
You will be aware, our Primary 7 children will shortly be performing their annual show. As the show is drawing near we are seeking your support in supplying some costumes. You will find attached a list of the characters and the costumes they should wear during the performance in the hope that you can help if at all possible.
If you have difficulty sourcing any of the items that we have requested then please don’t worry at all, just let us know as soon as possible. We will of course do our very best to make sure every child has a costume to suit their part in the production.
Please send costume items in to school in a clearly labelled bag no later than
Friday 20th March.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the show. As always, thank you very much for your help and support.
Yours sincerely,
P7 Teachers

Dear Parent/Carer,
Your child will shortly be taking part in a school performance for P7 school show. As always we rely on your assistance to help to organise your child’s costume where possible. As part of the costume for this show, we will be making Arabian style vests which each cast member will wear. To help us to make these vests, we require your child to bring an old t-shirt to school. This t-shirt will be cut and decorated to make their own particular vest. Please only supply an old or cheap t-shirt that you are happy to be cut and sewn.
Each part of our ensemble will require a different shade of t-shirt. We have specified the colour for your child below. If you have any problems sourcing this, please let us know as soon as possible and we will be happy to assist you.
Please can we have these in for Friday 13th March.
As always, your cooperation is very much appreciated.
Yours sincerely,
P7 Teachers

What a busy start we have had to term 2! With our auditions complete, our school show Aladdin rehearsals are well and truly underway.
We met our pupil groups last week, where we were taking the lead role in the running of the group. Here is a photo of the School Ground Keepers.
Last Friday we also began our Super Skills, where we were learning some of the skills within Expressive Arts.
This week we started our Learning Partners with younger pupils and we have really enjoyed meeting them and getting to know them. Look out on our school Twitter page for photographs.
Here are our completed WWII characters.
We started to create our own world war II children ready for evacuation.
Today we presented our inventions and innovations to the dragons. Miss Edmonston, Mr Connor and Mrs Maxwell came to judge our inventions and pitches. Some were a bargain, too good refuse, offering over 20% of their company for only £1000, for an item they would be charging £150 for! That would make the dragons a huge profit if successful. Others priced themselves out the market looking for a slightly unrealistic ten trillion pounds investment! Over the course of the topic we researched gaps in the market and everyday problems people would like us to solve. We used a logbook to record and date all our ideas. We then checked if anything similar already existed. If it did we didn’t give up straight away, we thought about innovations to improve the existing product. We considered our target market and where our product would sell, we researched how much similar items cost and thought about our materials. Ecofriendly items were a big plus! We then created posters to advertise our product, leaflets to explain them and used our graphic skills to produce a labelled diagram to use during our dragon pitch. In the end SpecTators won, Stretchable Soccer came second and Refuse Reducer came in third. The dragons were impressed with every pitch! We all enjoyed the topic, especially the celebration afterwards.
Active Schools are hosting a World Cup celebration afternoon at Whitecraigs Rugby Club this afternoon. We are moving round stations to participate in archery, judo, tennis, football, rugby aerobics and cricket activities. Schools from all over East Renfrewshire are taking part. Most importantly; we are having a ball!
Throughout May we took part in a creativity challenge at Mearns Primary. We worked with pupils from other schools to design an outfit with a science theme. We then used some of our technology skills (but mostly glue guns) to make the outfit. We also had movie editors and directors, a script writer and a narrator and a model. We put on a catwalk show for parents last Friday at Mearns Primary. Have a look at their twitter account for more photos!
We investigated the outdoors, finding different natural materials to explore further. We then placed our selected items under the microscope in order to inspire our artwork!
Pictures will follow!
