Home Learning Information

From Monday, home learning activities will be assigned via Seesaw and this class blog. This will consist of Numeracy and Literacy daily.

One ‘other’ task e.g. HWB, RME, Social Studies, Expressive Arts, Technology, or Science activity will also be assigned daily.

As well as academic learning I appreciate the importance of daily physical activity. Each day, you may like to participate in Joe Wicks live PE lessons. These will be streamed live on Joe Wicks’ YouTube account every morning at 9am.

Please check this blog and Seesaw regularly as we venture on our new home classroom learning experience.

We can see how the first week goes and make tweaks as we go along. I plan to upload the daily program by 9am everyday.  I may not always be able to answer questions immediately, but please be assured I am listening and will respond as soon as I possibly can.

Let’s have a wonderful first week of home learning P7a!

I am already looking forward to welcoming you all back when school resumes.

Stay safe and well!

My Kirkhill Family

You have motivated me every single day and been a constant source of light, support and inspiration for me.🥰

Today was a truly difficult day for all, one of the toughest days in my 20 years of teaching, but you were amazing!😭❤️

As I have always said, I love teaching you and I feel privileged to be a tiny, small part of your Kirkhill journey. 😇

I am hopeful that we will reunite and see each other before the summer, to give you the proper send off that you deserve.👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

P7a, please continue to be the amazing, positive and hardworking young people that you are! 🤩

You’ve Been a Dream

I’ve no words just now….

But……

I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again!❤️

Indoor Activities

As we enter these new and unsettling times, children can be confused with the changes that are happening. This may help parents/carers when explaining things:

Here’s a coping calendar to help us all with the days ahead:

Also some activities that may help occupy you and your children in the coming weeks:

As well as doing lots of household chores, I am sure there will be lots of board games being played as a family over the coming weeks, here are some playing cards ideas to help with those days.

Home Learning for P7a

As we enter unprecedented territories  in our lifetimes, I will do my utmost to continue to provide your children with enriched learning experiences. 🦸

Keep an eye on the class blog daily for any updates.👩🏽‍💻

I will also be using Seesaw to communicate with the children and for them to submit work etc.🤳

One day we will be teaching about this in history. 🦠

Please, please remember, we’re all in it together and we will get through this! 🙌

Make It Happen App Competition

The overall winner was from P7 and we have a runner up in our class.

Aladdin

The show must go on…

We sincerely hope that we have the opportunity to perform this to our school community.

Micro-Organisms Mouldy Bread

We found that the white bread went mouldy first, followed by the 50/50. We are still waiting for the brown bread to mould.

This is what most of the class had predicted would happen. As predicted the dirty hand went mouldy first then the clean hand and the control.
